Excerpt from exhibition text:

"On the confusing and crucial permeability of architecture, Sites of Passage is an exhibition of works on flows, movement and configurations encouraging visitors to spatial orientations.

Architecture can be seen as an extension of the human body and species as such compared to animals who rather live their form. As social and cultural beings in constant transformation, we employ built settings as tools to pass thresholds. Simultaneously, the human scale as default infuses corporeal features of buildings and creates asymmetric borders for whom and what could pass. For biological life to survive, architecture requires a free passage between inside and outside, enabling a vital movement from protected to open air.

The exhibition consists of existing and new works, some developed in dialogue with the building. Two open balcony doors bring a slight breeze to the gallery and leak noise from the street outside. "
